Project: Miniature Landscape

Since its foundation in 1935 De Vecchi has represented both innovation and tradition in the world of handmade silverware. The company has always believed that the reflective nature of silver is essential to its magic. By reflecting the world around it, the material liberates an unexpected expressive richness.
It is this philosophy that inspired Atelier Biagetti to create both a reflective object and a reflective environment.

Parlorama. Parlorama is a small silver landscape that, like a miniature scenography, can be arranged on the table, window sill or wherever you like. All the objects reflect in each other and thus become infinite. The piece was produced by De Vecchi 1935 in a limited edition of 5 pieces + 1AP and was presented during Milan Design Week 2010 in a one of a kind viewing case.

Dispositivo Ottico. The viewing case known as Dispositivo Ottico is a mirrored structure with one mouth shaped opening. The silver objects are placed inside the case, which is lined with led lights and mirrors on all sides. The viewer is then invited to look through the mouth of the case to see the magical infinity of the reflective surfaces.

The viewer is then invited to look through the mouth of the case to see the magical infinity of the reflective surfaces.

Dispositivo Ottico

Inside the De Vecchi workshop. The mirrored viewing case reflects both the world around it and the world within it.

The the mouth and into the soul. The inside of the viewing cases is like a miniature set of a science fiction film.
